The distributed system architecture and relief of the central database achieve a high data throughput and reduce the network load with maximum stability. Multistreaming and multiplexer backups speed up backup and restore many times over.

Scalability

NovaStor DataCenter Enterprise scales linearly from the backup of hundreds to several thousand servers and remains easy to manage. The centralized management allows, for example, the deployment of backup jobs on an unlimited number of systems in a single step. High fault tolerance, failover mechanisms and comprehensive automation minimize interruptions and the administrative effort for the growing backup environment.

Backup and restore are among the mission-critical tasks at Tieto, one of the largest IT service providers in Europe. 

With NovaStor DataCenter, Tieto achieves a backup success rate of 99.09% when backing up 13.2 billion files with around 8.2 petabytes. The high degree of automation and the individual optimization of NovaStor's solution allow a team of 4 internal and 10 external managers to reliably back up over 35 servers and more than 8,500 nodes.

Future project: autonomous driving 

Recordings of test drives generate extremely large and constantly growing volumes of data with more than 100 million files at 5 locations. Over 30 petabytes of data have to be backed up at each location. The backup to tape libraries at the user's premises is energy and cost efficient. NovaStor provides its data backup solution as a managed backup service and takes over the entire operational effort.
